School app - UX process in progress

School app

This application idea starting with the NVP created by the stakeholders. With the MVP I started competitors analysis to learn more about the market and to find out how other similar application works and what we can learn from their success and mistakes.

After the competitors analysis I have proceed with project ideation part. During this part I established the market issues, problem statement and possible problem solution.
The problem statement and market issues were established after the competitors analysis consideration and after the discussion with other stakeholders. Short user research was done to help us with this process by analysis competitors forums and their reviews to find out what users' desires and goals are.

As a part of the ideation process I also created the story boards representing 3 core features of the application. These features were established by using the MVP and Competitors analysis.
The story boards will help us to keep users' goals in mind, and keep us from sliding away from them during our design process.

As a next step in the UX process I took our story boards and transfer them into the user flow through the core features of the application.
Referring the the user flows it will be easier for me to design low-fidelity wireframes of the application, as I will see clearly the journey user has to take to achieve set goal.
With the simple user flows ready, I moved to designing a low fidelity wireframes.
For designing the wireframes I used Sketch together with Overflow sketch plugin. Thanks to overflow I could map out the user flows through the application from screen to screen, which really helped for explaining the project progress to the stakeholders.
At this point I tested the application prototype with real users to find out possible user flows mainly within the navigation and whether the app is intuitive.

There were no serious issues found, only small confusion with the floating navigation action button. Which can be solved by adding coach marks, or by accepting the learning curve of the application.
After user testing, the design of high fidelity wireframes was next. User flow through the application was created and all necessary screens added.
The last part of the UX missing for this application is last usability testing of the high-fidelity prototype to eliminate any possible user flaws within the design.

Creating the documentation, style guide, assets extract and delivering the product to the developers.
