Featured Gallery Slideshow
Highlighted content such as news, videos and photos are rendered into a rich slideshow with a thumbnail navigation. Because the content is provided through API responses from different Wordpress accounts, proper sorting is important, especially based upon magnitude of importance and chronology.
The slideshow unit is modular and works anywhere in the site. It can be found on the home page, news story pages and regatta pages.

Google Maps Integration
Regattas are held at different locations in the world. To personalize each regatta page, the background is a map from a Google Maps API request using the longitude and latitude of the regatta's hosting region.
The map had the opportunity to be more interactive by using markers and polyfills to plot the race course, but due to time constrants a static image is used instead.
