Photoshop Editing: Fixing Photos and Color Isolation

So the primary issue with the 'before' image was the yellow tint from the overhead lights and some color saturation issues. To rectify these I did the following:
1: I lowered the temperature of the photo considerably to initially reduce the majority of the yellow tint.
2: In order to offset the excessive "blue" tint created by the reduction of temperature I adjusted the tint to the right towards magenta until the colors balanced out as close to their ideal natural hues as I could discern.
3: there were still overlaying hints of yellow so I adjusted the exposure to the right and dropped both the contrast and shadows while boosting the highlights. This made the image look more 'crisp' to me.
4: Finally, I decreased the saturation while increasing the vibrance, this I discovered, took care of the last unwanted yellow areas while boosting the colors I wanted to keep.

For the color isolation I used the adjustment brush and placed the saturation all the way to 0 then painstakingly contoured the mug. I had to adjust the size of the brush a couple times as well as switch to regular saturation several times to fix some areas where I got too hasty.
