Secession is an annual design competition and exhibition which showcases the best work from graduating graphic design students (both in the undergrad program and graduate program) at SCAD. I had the opportunity of being selected for the committee in charge of creating the identity, promotional materials and producing the exhibition. In addition to designing the logo and the posters, I also was also awarded the silver medal for my project, Tidal.

 

With the theme of Method, the design employs a cut "S" with various colors illuminated underneath which begin to hint at the different methods employed by each of the finalists in their winning designs. While wanting to keep the concept relevant the students chosen for the exhibition, the committee also felt it was important to recognize the larger role that method plays in our ever-changing field.
