Money Card - New Year 2019

Money Card
Lunar New Year greeting

Money Card is timed to celebrate the material part of human nature and to welcome a year of the Earth Pig (2019). The Pig symbolizes wealth and generosity within different cultures. Since the 18th century, the shape of pig become widely popular for earthen money boxes. Despite the fact piggy banks are useless in the digital world, they remain to be icons of money saving and finances’ managing.

Money Card is a New Year greeting and a part of Oriental Collection, our self-initiated project that is planned to last 12 years and collect 12 New Year greetings corresponding to symbols of Lunar Calendar. Style of this project is a mix of cultures and times.

"As the Card was designed in Canada and printed in Ukraine, I had no chance to see the final result before sending greetings to recipients. Being an author I was far not the first who received Money Card. This emphasizes the feeling that my design doesn't belong to me" - Yurko Gutsulyak
