Wedding invitation for a lovely Bengali couple from Delhi, India. They wanted a Bengali themed wedding illustration, elegant, and ethnic elements in their invitation. The couple let me decide the entire theme and look of it.
Ashish and Ushashi are both Bengalis living in Delhi and planning to get married there.
The cover illustration depicts the ritual of Bengali wedding. This particular time of the ritual is called 'Saptapadi'. In this ritual seven circular rounds are taken by the couple around the fire thereby solemnising the occasion. Vows made in the presence of the sacred fire are considered unbreakable, with Agnideva (fire god) held as both witnessing and blessing the couple's union.
Finally the the couple loved the design so much, and I couldn't be any happier to be a small part of their wedding
