For my reel, I had already cut the footage to a temporary song file that fit the feeling I was going for with my own composition, so I had a visual to reference while scoring the piece. The cut ended up being a lot like a hard candy - juicy and sweet in the center with a nicely twisted wrapper on both ends. I tried to do the same with the music - a slow and simple build up with a faster-paced, high-energy center, ending with a slow section similar to the start of the track.
