My name is May,and I come from China, the country that I was born has a long history, my country has many traditional building, that’s to old and stereotyped but it still has they own special sense of beauty.I was born in a city with long history, at this place has a lot amazing building which went through a long time and still spectacular. Australia building is humanisation and combine modern building technology with historical characteristics together, this is my dream, so I really wants to realise my dream. I like design and create, I always have some novel ideas.

I am very interested in architectural design. Australia has lots of amazing building and it can give me new inspiration. Australia is a diversified country, it has different culture, it will gives my design more possibility.

I know I have a lots disadvantage and obstacle in this subject, but I will try my best to do it.

Return Brief

Dear Alexander the Great :
For Roman Villa’a advantage is they have really good scale and is connect to natural, they do not have small space.
Brick Villa located on Little Bay,which has a short distance to City, Airport, it will get easy for transport.
You are King, as you know you have a huge family, so I gives you a  big dinning room and 5 living rooms, for the protect your safety, you wants to have a safety room to hide in and escape,at the same time you required a huge filed and gym  to do exercise, also you have a pet horse and you are enjoy playing polo so a stable is very important to you, at the same time    you have to arrive battle quickly, Car Parking space can storage your cars and vehicles, you said you are interested about literature, science, and philosophy,so you required a private library, inside of library you wants to have a study rooms, furthermore your  son needs a private study rooms, as I know you have ailurophobia, so you required a garden fill with plants to scare cats away. At the end you wants a space to represent love, but this space is related to myth Narcissus.
I created a big field which is a open space, which connect to stable and car parking space, when you wants to escape you can choose drive car or drive horse fight with them, also it is easily for you to playing polo, however I put safe room in stable, because stable has a lot of horse and no one can image king hide in stable! and it’s easily to escape.  For ground floor a big window wall  with a private library  when you finished eating, you can go to library to read some book to cultivate yours taste, in side of library has 2 study rooms.a big windows wall can transfer light, so when you and your family eating, natural light and a really nice view from the sea.For second floor, the color that I used for entry is golden, which related to Narcissus, because Narcissus’s family do not let he to see mirror to prevent him, so golden color can instead mirror to reflect light and let the space looks glory, both side of entry space’s has gardens fill in with flowers,to represent love and scared cats away, in side of storage, will had a lots of plants to hide your weapon, also a glass ceiling can gives natural light for gym, and rooms, for your son his room is more bigger, and connect to his private study rooms. You Said you want to find true meaning of loving other people, so I create a gallery, it is a place that you can collect some art work and can chat with someone in gallery,I used dried leaves and Narcissus flowers around to communicate love.
In my drawing I drew a section, 2 elevation and floor plan which communicate what my Villa look like, and in my drawing I used orange color to represent private space, and use blue color to to represent glass, the thick line that I used to represent wall,it can help you clearly to understand.
The geometry that I choose  is rectangular, inspired by Old Scheeren-Studio ZX I connected them together to show balance and unbalance. As bubble diagram that I drew can distinctly show different area, then I used red color to show living area, yellow color to represent outside space, green color describe open area, blue color to discuss private area.
In the modern world, building is high, and use concrete and reinforcing steel bar,and for modern, we required a lots of different shapes of room, if we used it in old Roman style it is inconvenient.
I hope you like my design,my name is May, and am good at using different material and always have interesting  ideas!

History illustrated essay
Symbolic geometry and the order of modern architecture play important role in building planning and construction. There is relation between symbolic geometry and architecture design. Symbolic geometry is the foundational forms and order in building planning. The geometric figures, forms and transforms build the material of building design (Leopold, 2006).
The modern architecture should consider multi-dimensional context, such as Canopus axis and View axes (Dzwierzynska & Prokopska, 2017).
Symbolic geometry and the order of modern architecture is detail described in Hill (2013) and Ytterberg (2013).
According to Hill (2013), San Carlino depends on coherent geometry to some extent. It is considered to be synthesis of cross, oval and octagon. Hill (2013) argue it is geometry that provide solution for fitting everything in San Carlino, such as cloister, apartment and garden. The geometry shows it not only shows its practical significance, but also shows its symbolic significance. For example, the circles fueled the symbolism that merged the heaven and earth, divine and human. It is proved that the construction of an equilateral triangle is the presence of the form which support the interpretation of the Trinity. It is argued that the shape of the mandorla the auric vessel and window in Christian art is made by geometry. In Hill (2013), it is argued that the plan is adjusted to the site, the planning is geometrical. The construction lines can be traced. There is a longitudinal axis centered on the church quarter. In the appearance of the Trinity, as shown in figure 2, Christ is laid out in the shape of a church plan.
Ytterberg (2013) examine the organizational principles of the plan of Hadrian’s Villa. the axis of the Canopus is the longest axial alignments at the villa, which promises the reasonable accuracy in term of building plan. The main axis of the Canopus passes through the east hall of the Central Vestibule. The parallel arrangement of walls and columns at the southern end of this hall seem like a focusing   device, framing an important view. The Canopus   axis is clearly aligned   precisely with the westernmost peak of a multi-peaked hill on the horizon to the north, anchoring the Villa in the wider landscape. This is an alignment, which is reached between major elements of adjacent sections and related to the axis system. Visual alignments can also be seen in the planning of the building. The experience of curved and straight elements directly impacts the movement of the body through space and is perceivable in three dimensions.
Both Hill (2013) and Ytterberg (2013) mention the symbolic geometry and the order of modern architecture—Axis. They attach importance to symbolic geometry and Axis. They indicate that the building planning has considered aesthetic.

Based on the theory in Hill (2013) and Ytterberg (2013), the author develops a model called brick villa, as shown in figure 3. It is developed based on Greek mythology about The Alexander great. Which is named “Narcissism”. The main geometry of the model is rectangles. It is very easy to determine the axis of rectangles, that is why I choose it. In addition, Rectangles conveys reliability and longevity. It also means feeling traditional, trustworthy and authoritative. Rectangles can better interpret Narcissism of Alexander great. It is located at the seashore, the visitors in the restaurant can view the sea. To ensure every visitor can view the sea, the view axis is considered. Furthermore, to eliminate the monotonousness, circles are also chosen as symbolic geometry in the model. The circles were associated with the sun, moon and Earth in the ancient time and they are also easy to determine their axis. They can be used to tells audience it is about an ancient story. More importantly, the geometry of sacred architecture is rigorously symbolic. The plan of the building, summarizes the fundamental relationship between God and man, through the symbolic geometry of circles and squares (Demetrescu, n.d.).

Symbolic geometry and axis not only seen in modern building planning, but also can be seen in ancient building planning. Across centuries, symbolic geometry has existed in many buildings. The geometry knowledge can be traced back to the ancient Greeks. There are kinds of sacred geometries in the ancient church. As Hill M. (2013) stated, Symbolic Geometry can be seen in Borromini’s San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane. In fact, in ancient, geometry or proportional geometry was considered as a sacred art form, each geometry has its symbolic meaning. On the other hand, the axis is the key of a building design. An axis separating a geometry into two equal parts makes symmetrical plane figure. Besides the major axis, there are many minor axes. Axis is a long history of space design ideas and methods. It has been used over centuries. Hill M. (2013) stated Christ is considered to be located at axis when planning a church. The Ytterberg (2013) argues that the plan of Hadrian’s Villa not only considers axis of the Canopus, but also considers view axes. Axe are associated with aesthetics.
