Project
Our group was tasked with selecting a section of the city of Raleigh to research regarding its past and present African-American History. Then we were to create a digital service that would benefit the residents of the area, as well as the rest of the city.
Our location we chose was Raleigh's City Market.
Research
Our group began with researching the history of the City Market. Sarah and Camden covered the social aspect of City Market, while Nigel, Malik, and I focused on the business and architectural standpoint of the market.
We discovered that much of the current business residents have no idea about the history of the City Market. Most of the businesses moved into the market recently, so many only know about their current business neighbors. With that in mind, our team got to work on creating an informational service for both the businesses and visitors of the market.

Branding and Icons
Since the City Market was established in 1914, we felt that it would be refreshing for the app to have a modern language, while still paying tribute to the original branding. Malik took the lead on creating the assets for the branding kit.
Final
With our research, layout, and branding assets prepared, Malik and I used the prototyping program Protopie to create a model version of the application, with transitions and a flow from beginning to end.
