My type specimen book was inspired by future technology.Translated from French, Avenir means “future” or “time to come", this inspired me to create a futuristic type specimen book. I decided to focus on future technology because Avenir was created in 1988, the same year Steve Jobs launched the NeXT computer.  Although the computer was not a huge commercial success it was the starting ground for any technological advances that where yet to come. The inspiration for this type specimen book came from avenir’s French meaning “future” and the technological innovations that are to arrive in the times to come.
