For this piece, I was inspired by the dark and grimy aesthetic of the new album MUDBOY by Sheck Wes. The album gave me strong horror- western vibes, and I drew inspiration from the camera direction of classic westerns for my panel layout. I also pulled from the design of many old school horror comics to create a muddy and foreboding color palette, while creating type that would stand out and be "shocking" when contrasted with the rest of the piece. 

Original thumbnail- I made several adjustments to the overall design of the piece. I changed both Sheck and the evil sheriff's eyelines to be on the same diagonal to emphasize the showdown between the two. I also changed the first panel to be a full bleed on the left, to naturally draw the eye.
