The Dustin Center, a day center serving young adults who have aged out of the foster care system (age 18) and are not yet legal adults (age 21). This is known as the "hole in the safety net."
Working with these young adults over 9 months, introducing them to art projects from drawing to collage to photography, and learning their stories gave me deep insights into their lives. Each of them have a vision of themselves that is positive and far above their current station in life.
These illustrations bring form to their dreams and were a gift to each of them. A visible expression of what they hoped for themselves.
