This project was for my Intro to Graphic Design class at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. We were given the task of designing an 11" x 17" poster for an upcoming event at the university. I chose to design a poster for Hispanic Heritage Month 2019. My inspiration was drawn from the beautiful and colorful Mexican city, Guanajuato.
My idea for an authentic and homey feel was to draw a street in Guanajuato and add small details that make the scene interesting and fun to look at while browsing the events planned for Hispanic Heritage Month 2019.
I researched types of plants commonly seen in Mexico and decided to use them in my scene as well for added authenticity. This included Mexican bush sage, bamboo palms, and agave. I decided to use cute simple silhouettes to make the poster appear clean and refined.
This is the final product of my poster design. Hope you enjoyed seeing the process!
