DAY BI DAY - Publication
Day Bi Day is a project that chooses to address misconceptions around bisexuality by presenting an alternative narrative. It humanises members of the community by peeling back the curtain and showing a personal journey to discovering and embracing the label.

This journey is shown through a publication made up of several unbound signatures. Each signature contains one of eight stanzas of a self-written poem alongside supporting illustrations. Poetic content has also be supported through the exploration of texture, paper weight, paper stock choices, as well as embossing, folding, and sewing treatments.

By pushing the publication to better support the poem, viewers can better connect to this tangible piece, gaining a more intimate personal understanding of what being bisexual may entail.

This work was displayed as part of Toi Māia (Courageous Art), a graduate exhibition designed by AUT Visual Communication Design students, and organised by AUT staff.
