Alan Cumming's one-man version of Macbeth, directed by John Tiffany and Andrew Goldberg, was produced by National Theatre of Scotland for the Lincoln Center Festival in 2012, and will have a Broadway transfer in 2013.

The video design featured the actions of three overt surveillance cameras, each of which could be controlled by a live operator during the show. This allowed us to relocate the acting focus around the enormous Tramway stage, allowing Alan to perform 'to himself' or allowing us to represent Macbeth's visions/hallucinations.

The software used to allow this level of control was developed over five weeks in rehearsal in Glasgow, and used iOS input from an iPad to allow the operator to track Alan around the stage.
