When the final whistle rang I’m a dog and Tar heels kind of girl. And the paper flowers finally fell to South Carolina basketball. I jumped up and down in my apartment with my wife excitedly screaming beside me. I jumped on Twitter and posted and texted my friends in joy. Especially after last year, this result is very sweet. However, something was missing. We all have a story about our love for Carolina come from. Mine is like yours, I’m sure, in that it came from my family. Mother is a basketball lover of Carolina. Was as long as I could remember, and so I did not have much choice but a Carolina fan. Every victory and loss is held in our house as life and death. Mom will pull me out of school on Fridays in March, where Carolina has joined the Noon ACC Tournament.

I and my teammates also surprised me with a birthday with a trip to Charlotte to watch Heels play in the old Champions League in the Coliseum. 1993 brought back a national title that almost got my mom driving from our home about an hour away to Chapel Hill to join the people on Franklin Street. As the next day, the next day she left work to go to town to get some first T-shirts. I will not drop out of school so I can rub it in the face of all my friends and teachers, not in Carolina. So far, UNC is part of my soul that I am not the only owner of the team, but I dream of going to Chapel Hill campus as a student. Letter of acceptance a few years later is a bright spot after a fierce autumn.
