Qijiang is a half an hour drive from main city Chongqing. The town sits at the foot of the Gujianshan a popular summer tourist destination. General is a long time caligraphy writer and painter and has his studio in Chongqing. He decided to open another location in the scenic area with a dramatic view. The place surrounding the building is an artistic village, and so houses a number of respected local artists, their studios and galleries. It was no surprise that this would be a great location for the General’s house.

Designing the building we integrated the courtyard, an entrance inspired by Chinese woodwork, landscape elements, and water features.
