This Aerated concrete standing 3 Tier candle holder was made from four blocks of aerated concrete generously donated by Sider-Crete, Inc. The project required the piece to be a self standing candle holder that had three tiers/levels to it. I used concrete adhesive and an angle grinder to achieve the desired shape. In this prototype I grouted the surface for texture, a more uniform color and to hide the adhesive.

Afterthoughts:

Some considered variations include: 

-Adding a metal sheet wrapped around the base of the candle

-Adding colored glass cut outs where the candles sit

-Carving out a design or family crest under the third tier

-Paint over gray adhesive lines
