Mumbai is a product of uneven development. There are skyscrapers and slums within the same vicinity. This co-existing of socio-economic classes in Mumbai inspired this concept. The clean cut lines and mainly monotone buildings inspire the colour as well as the structure of the silhouette.This monotonous array of buildings is broken by the messiness of the slums. The slums comprises of houses that are cluttered together and often use up-cycled material to create make-shift houses. The confusion of colour and mess inspires the embroidery and weaving in this look. For the final garments I have used structured silhouettes with messy textures. I embroidered the shirt as well as wove the fabric (on the side panels of the pants) myself.
