ETERNITY VS THE DREAD DORMAMMU
An Honor to the Great Steve Ditko
Usually before I start each project I have an over arching goal I am hoping to achieve.  In the case of this project I found out that Steve Ditko was still alive and I was hoping that I could illustrate a piece that could be signed by the great master.
(Above is examples of the research and source material gathered for this project.)

I started off this piece by researching one of the great stories illustrated by Mr. Ditko.  The one that I
loved as a child came from a Giant Sized Collection of Dr. Strange stories and was originally published in
Strange Tales Vol. 1 #146.

In this story the Dread Dormammu the swore enemy of Dr. Strange wages war against one of the strongest beings in the Marvel comic universe, Eternity.
After researching adequately I began sketching and mapping out the composition of the piece as well as moving forward with photo reference and illustrating.
The Final Piece (40in X 27in)
The sad part about this project is that on the day I had finished and printed the piece I found out that Mr. Ditko had passed away. But I attached above the letter I had prepared for one of the greatest comic book minds of our age.
