This was a university project to design and create packaging for a typeface that we were given at random. I was given Gill Sans and wanted to design something that would stand out on the shelf but that reflected the typeface aswell. So I chose to design and create a wooden box that would be simple, modern and reflect the straight lines in the type. I wanted to include a sleeve that kept the box closed and gave you information about the product, so i used a acetate but gave it a rough frosted effect under the type so that it stood out on the box and drew you in. I created a slot inside the box that was lined with black velvet fabric and held a memory stick in place for the customer to use in their PC or MAC to gain access to the typeface.
