EUROVISION - Ideas and Design

I wanted to do a fun project and I love Eurovision, it's camp, it's over the top, it's sparkly, I knew I was going to have a great time working on that kind of topic. The idea is : What would be the theme and the overall idea in the form of a first pitch with a few pictures as an head of design if France was winning (I'm France so...well I choose France).

Each year the host city has a theme with a cool graphic design to support it. In Paris 2019, the theme is "Blossom". Blossom cause we're all people in a need to evolve, being somewhat better. We're these little plants, these little flowers and we're becoming so much more and the end : to reach for the stars. I'm going to play on two sides : nature/flowers and everything celestial and sky/night-ish. So my gimmick is this celestial rose a flower constellation. I took many pictures of roses and then I just drew lines to make into a constellation.

To Blossom, but what exactly ? After taking tons of pictures of different flowers I drew like the way I did for the rose, some others constellations.

I pushed the idea to the main show : how could we show the countries before they perform ? and how would the scoreboard at the end look like ? Now we're using real flowers cause before the artist is performing, he's/she's still in the process of blossoming not anymore that little flower but not yet a star. I also made a video about the postcards we usually see during the show before each entry : we can see the artist entering a flower shop, a park, a place full of nature in his/her country, the video keeps moving faster and faster with images of celestial content/nature content. At the end, the same artist get out in the host country. It's some sort of a teleport.

There is a lot more content about the project as the design of the app, some merchandising and videos but you get the idea. I was happy to do it and bring my own fantasy. That was very fun to do. Of course that's the job of a full team but let's say these are just images, like a storyboard before someone very professional like the host broadcaster with a full team behind, can realize with this.
