Caffenio App Exercise: Improving Order Funnel and applying Heuristics
Backgroundt:
This quick Caffenio App exercise served as an example in applying Design Heuristics as a validation
The Redesign Process:
First, a simple diagnostic on how does registered users takes place for now, identify hotspots and areas of opportunity and tweak this flow.
A simple yet specific question is formulated: HMW simplify the order keeping client's need to feature season star product Yambé? (mango with chili slush).
Then, a different flow is described and presented to main parties involved in a whiteboard or a plain piece of paper. If there's any complication or idea within this flow, from another person brought to the table, we'll find out here.
After that, we roughly prototype the main elements stablished on the new flow
Next, a script was elaborated for testing and plan simple question without revealing the specific task we want them to have success with the prototype, like the following:
Can you buy a coffee you'd never buy in a regular bases?
You want to buy two co-workers a latte because is both's birthday; Also you know one of them is lactose intolerant. What can you do?
You just remembered one of them ain´t going to the office. Woopsie! What do you do?
After test is finalized, when subject is relaxed and laid back after the test, ask if they know which is the latest season product of caffenio
We try to stay within GV Methodology in the Test, analyze results of the rough test.
We iterate and improve the Design.

Sometimes aesthetics can get opened to perception, but ambiguity should be reduced as possible. Keeping track with quantifiable variables will give you the credentials for the design alone in look and
...or just a sheet with the evaluation if printer's outta ink.
