My Role at Covenant Eyes has evolved considerably as I've acquired influence.  I function as  lead designer but I've also been tapped to help develop the younger talent. One of the most helpful things that I ever did for my career was really internalize the body of knowledge that surrounds the elements and principles of design.  This handout is one that I developed to work with a Junior Designer to help her begin to understand it as well.  We met for an hour and talked through the handout.  She had it to take notes on and my managers said they were seeing evidence that this work was helping her.  I love to teach and this helped to scratch that itch for me as well.  I ended up teaching this to 6 other people who were functioning to some degree as a graphic designer at the company.
