In the “Decisive Moment” Henrì Cartier Bresson talks about the wait of the moment talks about the waiting of the moment where the composition is perfect and is possible to feel the sensation of tension and movement, that makes the picture unique and interesting.

The mission for this project is to find a way of showing sound through pictures so I got to the idea of using it to actually take the pictures.
Starting by this thinking I wanted to introduce the concept of sound creating images that catch the ignition of the sounds that came out by the noise, catching an image in the explosive moment.

Programming Arduino I’ve been developing a Remote Control for the camera that makes the camera shoot the picture in the moment of a loud noise, it works automatically analysing ambient sound and sending a signal through a infrared LED. The first design of this little toy is called Grida 1.0 and is able to be attached at the camera with a tripod plate or detached and works by distance.

I’ve so decided to focus on expressions and nd a way of having unconventional portraits that could express sound. With this machine I’m so able to get the reactions of sounds.
Baloons had been my best friends for this project, they have a quite strong sound, they are not dangerous and easy to explode, they are fun but most of all their volume almost disappear in the moment of the explosion and fastly run away. Just great!
