The Old Barn was a 3 bedroom luxury stone barn conversion project near Bamburgh in Northumberland. The building was restored from a derelict shell using the finest natural local materials in 2016/2017.

As the largest property within the development, there was a lot of potential to create a stunning design with the objective of showcasing the impressive amount of space whilst retaining a warm, cosy, luxurious feel.  

A resounding success in terms of the design of the layout was the incorporation of a cosy 'hideaway' bed created within a space originally intended to be a wardrobe within the children's bedroom. The bed was built in to the space with wall lighting and a curtain to ensure the hidden feel.

The overall theme was traditional country luxury with a contemporary twist, using rich colour accents and a variety of natural textures.

Again as with the neighbouring property Mulberry Cottage, premium materials and finishes were utilised to crete an exclusive, yet comfortable and relaxed feel, the ability to relax  being an essential element for a holiday retreat.
