Macbeth Lighting Design

For my design of Macbeth, I wanted to be very surreal. I wanted it to seem like the people interacting on stage were in a kind of bubble in the darkness. I wanted the stage to be mostly dark with light only on the actors and the amount of light dependent on the scene and what was happening. I played with this idea with sketches of each scene
I I then took those sketches and started looking at gel colors.
I started thinking about the different areas on the stage and where to place lighting istruments to achieve the effects that I wanted. After several rough light plots, I created my final plot.
This is a top view of the stage and the electrics over the stage.
