Mobile County Young Republicans Rebrand

If you dig back into my portfolio, you'll see a low-resolution branding for the MCYRs. I wanted to be able to use it in different ways (cards, t-shirts, posters), but the low resolution obviously undermined that effort. Also, I wanted a simple brand that we could keep reusing. So, I pivoted to some of Mobile's sites. Mobile's best feature is the bay. The RSA spire is also iconic. Putting both of those things together against a sunset-type color was a fun idea. However, when it came to being representative of a political group—especially one with a trademark affection for the color red, this just didn't foot the bill.
We wanted red to be somewhere in the design, so I tried to fit it in EVERYWHERE.
This was the final color brand. The bay is still present, but the red seals it all in.
Then, finally, I did a simple black and white logo for more professional looks. None of this is great, but it's enjoyable to work on.
