For this piece I drew a bee and I worked in layers to gain a life like image. I used multiple tones of a color to create depth and give the illusion of fur and transparency to the wings. I utilized the water color pencils to create the transparency of the bee wing and then lightly blurred the leg at the points where the wing and legs overlap. I chose to do an ariel view of the bee so that you could get a better image of the bee and how different areas of it are drawn and how different mediums are better suited for drawing those portions. By being able to identify how different materials were better suited for different areas of the bee I was able to better emulate the look of a real bee. The purpose of this exercise was to practice using different mediums to create a more realistic drawing.
