Just a woman who wore combat boots shirt! 20 years ago yesterday, I flew West of the Mississippi River for the first time, on a flight to Colorado Springs. As we started our decent, looking out the window of the plane viewing the prairie land east of the Rockies, I remember being amazed at how Colorado didn’t have any trees. Then when I saw the Rockies, they were covered with jagged rocks instead of the pretty trees atop our Appalachian Mountains.
