Rolls Royce Exhibition Proposal

In the Fall of 2012, myself and a group of three design students embarked on a project to redesign an exhibition experience at the Rolls Royce Heritage Trust Museum. As of now, the museum caters to mostly Rolls Royce employees, engineers and engineering students. We performed primliminary research by documenting photos of different aspects of the museum like mood, color, layout, safety, and messages. From that we created a system and proposal that encompassed our projected vision of what this museum exhibit could be.

Titled "Thru the Blue", our main inspiration came from the idea of flight. We were unaware prior to going to the exhibit, that Rolls Royce has had a major hand in the innovation of jet and spacecraft engines. We wanted to let that aspect of Rolls Royce shine by making it the front runner and main theme of the experience. We pulled visual styles and elements from pop culture during the 1940's to 1960's. We found a great depth to the imagery of Pan American flights and decided to use some of those elements to guide how we redesigned the space.
