'Skin-Deep' surrounds the idea of self-love. The ability to understand the ups and downs of self-acceptance to self-loath is inspired by the term "alone but not lonely" to achieve a zen like state of mind. The conceptualise book embodies the elements of flora and fauna shown alongside the character to express growth and evolvement, compelled by by the rawness of human nature.

Many women can relate to the struggle of self-loathing and self-doubt from personal experiences. They have endured the turbulence to become whole mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually; slowly but surely. The journey of self-love may be trying but the path will be better once their mind is open to positivity. 

The art direction of intricate lines and splashes of reds and greens features a realistic yet quirky character with wit and humour. Different emotions spirit are shown through unruly thick hair, chubby pink cheeks and flawed skin that are relatable to many.
