3D Flash drive model & texturing practice.
Based on the very recognisable SanDisk Cruzer ranger of flash drives I wanted a to have my own 3D replica for future brand identity blank mock ups to add logos and graphics for possible client presentations. Plus I had some fun and practice making various textures with some exploration in creating levels of damage or wear and tear on the models.
The 3D geometry was made in Cinema 4D using standard box modeling techniques and reference images. Honestly it was a little more tricky to replicate than expected as it seems the shape is so recognizable the slightest alteration made it look like a cheap knock off brand. Like "flasher"
After UVW mapping in cinema 4d I use either Photoshop or Substance Painter to create different textures.
This one was fun. I want it.
