With this illustration I wanted to produce something a little bit creepy and while I was quite happy with the initial inking process and some shading involving sepia ink on the subject's clothing and some fine details in black ink on its upper torso, I wasn't entirely happy with how it turned out. Thus I decided to use a toothbrush to splatter ink on the page for a more unsettling effect. Then I proceeded to spread some big patches of ink with my fingers (while adding water) to create a smoky effect around the thick black area of the illustration. All in all, I was quite happy with the result :)
