India Design Mark symbolises product excellence in form, function, quality, safety, sustainability and innovation and communicates that the product is usable, durable, aesthetically appealing and socially responsible. India Design Mark is a design standard not a contest.
Every year this mark is awarded to the worthy applicants through an extensive jury process. As part of the jury process, an exhibition of all the products that qualify for Round 2 is set up so that jury members can see, touch and experience the products they are evaluating. Post the jury, the exhibition is opened to the public, but only the products the products that qualify are showcased. Hence, the exhibition has to be re-hashed overnight, to look complete in itself, with an uncertain number of products.
Here are some explorations done for I-mark 2018 which includes - graphics panelling systems and product display systems designed specifically for the kind of mass manufactured products to be displayed at the exhibit. The categories of the products displayed for I-mark 2018 are as follows :
-Lifestyle products
-Home and office appliances
-Industrial Equipments
-Furniture and equipments
-Automotive and transportation
-Software and digital products
Materials suggested : hexaboard (12-15mm) + square metal sections- 20mm
This exhibit system will be used to display mass manufactured products which are a part of the Imark exhibition. The idea is to have a minimal display unit, panelling system which goes in line with the language of the exhibition.
Axonometric view - Exploration 2 - Connected display units for maximising the visibility (placed at 90 degrees)

Exploration 4- Materials suggested : hexagonal honey core board (12mm) supported by metal square sections (18mm) with a matte black enamel finish, with a supporting leg/box on one side (50mm x 40mm x 25mm). Exploration for graphics panelling system- increased visibility, guides the visitor around the space.
This project was done as a part of my internship with Therefore design , Pune.
