The aim of this project is to take the technical skills I learnt in motion graphics and apply visual communication thinking. This includes, composition, visual language, typography and sequential imagery. 

This project develops and produces a title sequence of around 30 seconds. The title sequence is for a hypothetical film of a novel which called Swallowtail Butterfly. It combines visual imagery and feature a title and 3 other credits. The title sequence is a prologue to the film.

Swallowtial butterfly is a novel set in Tokyo happened at economic bubble period. It’s a story about gloomy youth of some yong people. These sketches are referenced some Japan scenes because this novel is from Japan. I put the credtis on the signboard and also use deep red colour which is one of traditional Japanese color to highligh it. For the rest of sketches, I chose black colour which can express the depressed style better. For the background, I made like texture paper. It makes my scenes look has been a long time. The red butterfly run through entire video to make it consistency. At this step, drawing them in different layer in Adobe Illustrator so that I can make a 3D effect when using camera tools in After Effect.
