Final Cover
Mood Board
First, I did some research about some alternative music covers for inspiration. I found out that many upbeat music have a lot geometric shapes with abstract background and bright colors.
Initial Sketches
Then, I came up some ideas of how do I want my album cover to look like. Since the music is a alternative rock style, I want to create some geometric shapes with some abstract style. After the critique, my group agreed that I should do something geometric and more colorful.
First Version
For my first variation, I used the geometric shape as the main focus. And inside the shape, I made different color for each triangle, but same color in the opposite direction. For the second version, I created a gradient background, and put the band name in the middle of the hexagon and added the drop shadow for "BEAT" that created dynamic.
Second Version
For the second version, I removed the pink edges which make viewer focus more on the shape in the middle. My challenge was the typography looks too simple and structured. For the second cover, I took out all the elements around the shape which looks more clean.
