Seth Schattner's profile

Statistics Project

For this statistics project, I determined that Walmarts located in the southern US are older than Walmarts located in other US regions.  Here are some charts, graphs, and reports below that show the non-normality of the data and how I came to my conclusion.

These SAS graphs I produced tested the dataset for normality (even distributions).

This data set focused on that ages of Walmart's Walmart "Supercenters".  This data is skewed right and is not normal since the graph does not follow the bell curve pattern.
Note these qq plots have a distinct pattern of data trailing from the regression line.  This also shows that the data is not normal.

Using a significance level of 0.05, the p value of less than 0.001 indicates very high confidence that Walmart Supercenters have been in the south much longer than in other US regions.  (Note: Since the variances are unequal (Folded F=0.0239), we use the Satterthwaite numbers for the T-test.)

Here is a sample of some of the statistical analysis that I have done using SAS.
