This is Eiji Makoto, a 15 year old member of the Majave tuft. As you can see, he’s a little different. Although persons his age should have full control of their hair, Eiji just never got the hang of it. Tired of his failures, he begins a journey out of his tuft in order to fix his condition before it ruins his life forever.

Eiji resides in a world named Munkai, where the hair of every living creature has the ability to move and change color based on the emotions of said creature. He is the main character in this story of identity and truth.

I was given the opportunity to create a world and story as part of a class in college. As soon I was given the tools, I ran with this story. I loved the idea of sentient hair because often times mine seems like it is. I wanted to create a character that might have been me if I had allowed my crazy big hair to control who I became. And that is how Eijji was born. One day soon, I hope to make this a feature-length film that could impact kids and adults around the world.
