Talk More. Scroll Less.

Talk More. Scroll Less. is an interactive installation piece for spaces of waiting. With over 450 hand-cut flaps and a structure that is 6ft high by 6ft wide, this piece encourages people to put their phone down, interact, discover, and engage with those around them.

Through a series of ideation exercises, based on three random words, I identified the themes of purpose, vulnerability, and mystery to base this exploration around. Digging deep into these themes and today's smartphone culture, I developed a variety of ideas for environmental installations. For the majority of this project, I was working toward a vector-based experience, yet as I continued to get deeper into this project, I saw the opportunity to use collage, color, and a "hidden" message to grab viewers attention away from their phone and have larger impact on my audience.
