This is a project from my junior year collaborative class. I was requested to design a food co-op for a lot in Walpole, NH. Every two weeks I met with the co-op board leader to discuss design criteria and hear her feedback on my progress thus far. We decided on this design, which utilizes the small space in the best manner. The co-op will specialize in local and organic food and produce. The space brings together the community with outdoor seating and indoor dining areas that can be used for gatherings, meetings, and other town activities. The building has great solar orientation, where solar panels can be used to generate electricity and lower the carbon footprint of this building.
