The challenge of this project was to create a series of book covers based on a theme. I chose mental disorders for my theme, focusing on depression, insomnia, and anxiety. I created a cohesive look among them by crafting paper collages for each cover, including the titles. I then scanned them into the computer and manipulated the images in Photoshop. The images were then brought into InDesign, where I added the text, logos, and barcodes. The layered handcrafted images bring texture and depth to each cover's concept.
This series received an Honorable Mention award at the Annual Juried Student Art Exhibiton at Meredith College in Spring 2017.
