The St. Augustine Sandpipers are an imaginary Minor League Baseball franchise located in St. Augustine, FL. It was vital to distinguish what made the Sandpipers unique from the countless array of other MiLB teams; aiming at young families and tourists of Florida & St. Augustine, the team's proximity to the beach and ocean is heavily stressed in their branding. The logo captures elements both of baseball and the coastal location of the team with a driftwood baseball bat. The colors reflect those of the coastal environment while the type system has a nautical look and flowing movement. Finally, the tagline "Old Ballgame. Oldest City." expresses the heritage of both the game of baseball and the city of St. Augustine, FL (founded in 1565).
A day out at the ballpark. The warm sun. Hot dog and cracker jacks. The crack of the bat against the excited buzz of the fans. What could be better than that? Well, here at St. Augustine we have all the things people love about baseball plus the beauty and charm of an ocean view. The cool ocean breeze and the calming crash of the waves against the sandy shore - now we’re talking.
