This is a simulated project where I had to create a lifestyle website that consists of an index page, three working pages and a working form.

Rosemary and Thyme is a stationery company with a nature theme. The website categorises the stationery into specific sections and features products which have nature-inspired prints and/or are made with sustainable materials.

The colour palette is made of rather soft colours meant to evoke the calm ambience which nature provides. The logo is made of a script typeface to provide a handwritten feel. The text is a mix of san-serif and serif typefaces to present a clean and simple look. There are also watercolour floral elements to complement the soothing, natural theme.

The website follows a rather standard layout. There is an easy-to-navigate top menu, and images and text are placed in such a way to avoid excessive scrolling. An example is the products being laid out in only a few rows with a carousel navigation. The information on the product and checkout pages are linear and straightforward.
The company's personality is displayed through subtle touches in the design, such as flowers as a hover feature in the menu and tiny leaves at the end of dividers. These complement the modern, clean lines and overall layout.
Take a moment to enjoy The Little Things
The advertisement follows a story showcasing what I believe: nature and journaling (writing, drawing, sketching, activities that do not involve a screen) have a certain way of making you truly aware of what’s going on around you. The advertisement shows a dream-like world, and I hoped to portray that by the colour grading, pacing and cinematography. I wanted to tell customers that sometimes we should take a step back—so that we can be more mindful of what we have to do, appreciate what we have—and hopefully take better control of our lives, among other things.

I employed colour schemes and filters uncommon in the real world. This results in ethereal imagery which is complemented by a song that has mellow beats and calming instrumentals. I used yellow for text as the colour can be relaxing and positive. The typefaces are kept simple so that they are not too distracting.

Overall, the viewer can feel the whole experience of Rosemary and Thyme as if in a reverie.
