This project was assigned to recreate a type specimen book of an older typeface made by Adrian Frutiger. The typeface I chose was Avenir Next, which came out in 2004, which was around the time that Britney Spears became really popular. I decided to base the style of my book on the styling of her promotional posters from that time. The posters had very bright colors and high contrast. One in particular had a background that appeared like foliage if you looked closely at the patterns, which inspired the flowers throughout my book. Instead of using multiple colors I focused on a neon blue look, which also appears as a black light in some areas. In the posters there were also small gems, which i mimicked for portions of the book to get away from the singular flower.
