Back to Avenir is a type specimen book for Adrian Frutiger's typeface, Avenir. The theme for the book is based off of the movie, Back to the Future (directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd). This theme was chosen because Back to the Future and the Avenir typeface were both released in the late 80s. Also, Avenir is French for "Future". The color scheme for the book was pulled from the colors used in the poster for the first Back to the Future movie.
