Shared Stories About...
February 2018
Shared Stories is a set of 3 handmade books filled with people’s stories with simple line illustrations, answering questions like: What makes you happy? What is the happiest moment in your life? What is comfort for you? What makes you comfortable in sad situations? And what is your dream? These are the kind of questions that most people never really thought of in daily situations, but I, as the “author”, think that it is important for us to think about these questions - to take a moment out of our daily routines in order to understand ourselves by knowing what makes us happy/comfort and building our positivity from thinking of these questions.
Not only that, I found out that listening to other people’s stories can lift up our moods and give a different perspective in life. Humans can easily relate themselves with objects so quickly (for example: pets - dogs and cats) or emotionally invest themselves to objects (such as: photographs or a memento of a certain memory), so how hard will it take for us to relate or emotionally invest ourselves to another human’s stories?
The set is simply made, pocket sized, and wrapped together with a small sleeve. It was made the way it is so that it looks casual, something that everyone can have and carry in their bags without adding any weight. It's designed to be inviting or friendly-looking, nice to touch, and create a certain intimacy with the readers since the stories in them are personal stories.
