Part of my job as a graphic designer at Poolmaster is to develop products for each new year and then design the artwork that the products will be manufactured with. This process starts with concepting ideas and making rough dielines that we send to factories in China to see how they can accomplish the new shapes of products we want. Then we receive samples from the factories, we test the products and make any necessary adjustments. This is also when we start designing the art. Once the product is finalized we photograph it during our yearly photoshoot (for lifestyle shots) as well as in our photo room (for product shots). I take the in-house product shots and edit them. For our photoshoot we hire a pro photographer who gives us the photos in RAW format, which I then edit and prepare for use in our catalog, on our packaging, for our website and sometimes for the websites of our stockists and/or their store signage and displays. Below are a couple examples of products I have worked on all the way through this process.
