Student Internship at The Tennis and Golf Company

The Tennis and Golf Company is located on Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak, Michigan. The company is a well known, high end retail store that caters the needs of athletic golfers and tennis players. It is privately owned family company and has been in business for over 70 years. I was offered an internship at the company my Junior year of college. Being able to work my first retail merchandising job here was a blessing. My duties included one-on-one training with the visual merchandising manager, the buyer of the store, and the CEO of the company. Having the ability to talk with the buyer gave me a whole new perspective on the industry and the hard work that goes into maintain a store of that size.
