For this piece the first and last letters of our name needed to be used in order to create a composition that no longer looked like those two letters.  Contrast played a role in this composition as did rotating the letters.  This piece shows a process as it went from a digital design to a laser cut wood design. 

The picture above is the composition listed in black and white, now on laser cut wood.  This process is used to make the original design into a real world application.
